"Play date"
Ellie had a "play date" with Miss Amelia (while mommy enjoyed some wonderful adult conversation). Amelia is six weeks old and absolute perfection - she slept peacefully the entire time. Was my baby ever this tiny?!

Eleanor LOVES dogs
Ellie is in LOVE with dogs. They can bark, lick her face, run around her - she doesn't care one bit and is downright delighted to watch and listen to them in all their glory. Her new found attention towards Penny has been interesting to observe - I think the love affair is a bit one sided :) Photos and a video below.
A trip back "home"
Brad had work in DC, so Ellie and I joined him for a 5 day vacay. It was slightly surreal to be back there with our daughter, and it was amazing how much it felt like home. It was just wonderful to be able to introduce her to so many amazing people. Fun times included a mommy/daughter day touring the sights (White House, Washington Monument, American History Museum), lunch with John Moran, lunch with Matt Baughman, a "come meet Ellie" afternoon at Pork Barrel, and of course, dinner with Billy and Barbara, and shacking up with the Carrs. Watching Annie and Zoe love on Ellie was absolutely the highlight of the trip...so special. The 5 day adventure just reminded us how much we miss our friends who are family. Photos from the trip are here.

Sitting up!
We took our 25 week photos yesterday, and it was the first time Ellie really seemed to sit on her own in the chair. So when Brad got home last night, we tried it out on the floor - she's rocking it! Still uses her hands in front of her to balance a bit, but a couple of times could right herself when she started to lean which tells me she's well on her way. Go bug go!

25 weeks old!
I LOVE my piggies! And I'm SO CLOSE to sitting up by myself. Sometimes I do it for just a few seconds but usually topple over pretty quickly :)
