Momo was hungry!

This morning after Ellie finished nursing, she sat up, grabbed Momo (her stuffed monkey that she'd brought in with her from her bedroom), shoved him up to my boob and said "yum yum yum". She proceeded to do this a few more times before deciding Momo had had enough. 

I was sort of surprised that my immediate reaction was full on joy and pride. I am not one of those crazy breastfeeding people who preach it and shove it in your face and go to la leche league meetings and make you feel bad for not doing it, but I do feel that it's incredibly important and has been one of the greatest gifts I have given Ellie to date. 

And it just makes me feel so good to know that she's growing up aware enough of it to want her "baby" to have some too. Because it's normal and should be normal, and I hope she always feels that way. 

And if someday she wants to be the president of her local la leche league chapter, well, then as long as she's not putting anyone else down, then more power to her :)
