Brad had a lovely day planned - but the first thing that happened was all I needed. Brad got Ellie up, as usual, and brought her in to me. She plopped down on my stomach and with a big smile said "Happy Muder's DAY!". I almost died. She was clearly so stinking proud of herself (and I think daddy was pretty proud of himself, too ;) Side note: Ellie is still breaking this phrase out at random moments over a week later, and has bestowed this sentiment on a few other moms she's encountered since then, promptly melting everyone's hearts.)
We had a low key morning complete with a mimosa and gifts (I got a new diaper bag that I had been coveting!) and then went to an awesome brunch at St. Michael's. Of course we got all gussied up! Back home for naps and relaxing and then some afternoon ice cream at Sweet Republic (sinfully delicious!). We hit the park before E's dinner and bath, and then I chose to end the day in the best way I knew how...with Pizza Hut, my oh-so-bad-but-oh-so-good indulgence.
We took too many photos and I felt 100% loved and appreciated.
Bug, thank you for continuing to be such a special little girl. You fill my days with more joy, giggles, and life than I ever thought possible. I will be forever and ever grateful to you for making me a mommy. To the moon and back, sweet girl. xoxo
