National Donut Day

I adore donuts. I don't eat them all the time (for obvious reasons) but I adore them. So you can imagine my disappointment when this year's National Donut Day went something like this:
The three of us arrive at Dunkin Donuts for our free donut with the purchase of a beverage. I am so excited! I choose the best donut I can think of for E - pink frosting with sprinkles (a newly discovered treat). Brad and I get our iced coffee and donuts and we all sit down to enjoy.
Ellie and I had a full morning ahead of us, so I also purchased a banana for her to eat later in the morning.
I show E the donut and she is clearly skeptical. I hand it to her and after licking the frosting, decides she's not interested and instead opts for the banana.
Are you KIDDING me?! The woman who ate donuts through her entire pregnancy gave birth to a child who chooses a banana over a donut.
As Brad said, "This is a pretty great example of nature vs. nurture, with nurture winning BIG TIME".
Sigh. I suppose he's right.
Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of E for choosing the banana...I guess ;)
There's always next year...
