Little love had her first throw up experience last night, and words cannot describe how heartbreaking it was.
E actually threw up in her bed last night after she fell asleep. I'm so glad my nightly routine is to put a hand on her back before I go to bed, or I would have never known anything had happened as there was no crying or waking up.
I went in around 10 and it smelled HORRIBLE and I realized there was puke everywhere. A puddle longer and wider than she is with huge chunks of everything she had eaten that day. She was sleeping in it -it was in her hair, on her face, clothes, sheets, mattress cover, pillow, animals...it was so bad.
We got her up and had to give her a bath - she stirred when a soft light came on and just looked so confused and said "hole me mama" in the saddest little voice. I immediately started crying.
She shivered the whole time she was in the bath - it was just terrible.
While I tackled cleaning E, Brad tackled cleaning the room. I got her dressed and put her back down to bed. About 15 minutes later I heard heaving through the monitor- thankfully just bile/water, but more throw up nonetheless. So round 2 of cleaning commenced.
At this point I knew I wasn't going to sleep well being worried she'd be sleeping in puke again. So a pallet on her floor was made and I slept in her room. I slept horribly, and also kept waking up feeling a little sick myself. By morning I was in bad shape, and around 10 am also threw up. Three cheers for family sickness!
The really good news is that E seems much better today (aside from her 4 hour afternoon nap), and I haven't thrown up
again, but am just worn down, sore and tired. Here's hoping tomorrow has everyone feeling A-OK.
